Lars MikkelsenAt 27 years old He enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. Alongside his role as the lead actor in The Killing, he also appeared in two other critically highly acclaimed Danish dramas, Those Who Kill, and Borgen III. He also was in the episodes of BBC drama Sherlock as Charles Augustus Magnussen (blackmailer). In the American television show House of Cards, he was the role of President Russia. In 2018, he received an International Emmy Award for his character as the president of Russia in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This was shown in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in the year 2019. Mikkelsen can speak fluent English, Swedish, German as well as Danish as well as his native language. He also has acquired various accents. He has stated that he and his brother initially began to learn English through listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
