Awkwafina is an American actress and musician. She began by releasing funny, well-written music that tackled issues like racial identification and sexuality. Then she expanded her fans to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. Apart from classical music and jazz, the young Nora started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. While in her schooling, she specialized in journalism and woman's studies. She was also a student of Mandarin during a time in Beijing. It wasn't until after graduating when she decided to turn her attention to music.
